Request an AppointmentWhat Happens at Your First Appointment
Your first appointment begins with a consultation. We will get to know you, review your medical and dental history, and listen to any concerns or goals you have for your smile. From there, we perform a thorough evaluation that may include digital X-rays, an exam of your teeth and gums, a check for signs of gum disease, and an oral cancer screening. We then review our findings, explain any diagnosis in clear terms, and walk you through your treatment options.
What to Bring
Please bring the following information to your consultation appointment:
- Your referral slip and X-rays, if applicable
- A list of any medications you are taking
- Any known allergies or medical conditions
- Your medical or dental insurance information
Completing your patient forms ahead of time can save time at check-in. If you have questions about coverage, our financial information page explains our insurance and payment options.
Will I Receive Treatment the Same Day?
Occasionally, treatment can be completed on the same day as your consultation. However, complex treatment plans or complicated medical histories may require evaluation and a second appointment. Please let our office know in advance if you have a medical condition that may be a concern prior to treatment, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves or joints, rheumatic fever, or blood disorders.
Previous X-Rays
If you have had X-rays taken in the last six months, please ask your previous dentist to forward them to us. If there is not enough time before your appointment, please make arrangements to pick them up and bring them with you.
Patients Under 18
A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18. We welcome children from age one and offer gentle pediatric dentistry designed to help young patients feel at ease.
Feeling Nervous?
If you feel anxious about dental visits, let us know when you schedule. We offer sedation dentistry options and will take extra time to explain each step so you feel comfortable and in control.
