General Dentistry
Helping our patients maintain a healthy mouth and smile is the main goal of general dentistry. We prefer to provide more minor, preventive care than to see patients suffer with more intensive treatments from a problem that was not managed in time. We want to ensure that your oral health is in its optimal state and positively contributing to the health of your entire body. We are here to brighten your smile and pave the way for a brighter life.

Cleanings And Exams
Having a dental practice perform a checkup and regular cleaning gives a preventive approach to dental care. These general dentistry treatments help prevent problems with your teeth, gums and jaw bones, or they catch and manage problems before they worsen. During your visit, our doctors will take a picture of the current standing of your dental health and what would be needed to keep your oral hygiene in its best state.

Digital X-Rays
X-Rays are used to examine the inside of your teeth. We are hoping to be able to catch any problems that we can’t see with the naked eye! Using radiology, we are able to see which teeth are developing cavities. We may also see some teeth or gum areas that may require some extra work.
Home Care
Here at Distinctive Smiles of Baton Rouge, LLC, we are firm believers that good dental health begins with the proper home care.
It is very important for a healthy mouth (and a beautiful smile) that you take good care of your teeth and mouth. Because we believe that a healthy mouth starts at home, we are dedicated to educating our patients on the correct way to take care of their teeth!
Proper care starts with regular teeth brushing. It is also important to change your brush regularly so it does the job that it is supposed to. Though many hate to do it, flossing and rinsing your mouth out with a good antibacterial rinse is also very important to have good dental health.
Dental care at home is not enough though. It is also important to visit your dentist regularly for cleanings and checkups. The sooner we catch any problems, the better off you will be.
